has the equipment, experience, and skills necessary to inspect,
analyze, and prepare detailed conservation recommendations
for a wide range of historic materials and finishes. In
the laboratory we are able to conduct chemical microscopic
analyses of existing materials such as stone, mortars, woods,
paints, and special finishes. Our materials conservation
work is integrated from the beginning of a project in order
to address all of the important issues involved in the maintenance
and repair of a historic structure.
Our
firm has served as the prime consultant for numerous conservation
studies and analyses for significant concrete, wood-frame,
stone, adobe, and masonry structures. Our conservators have
the professional training and experience to assess historic
materials, take samples, and evaluate them in our in-house
laboratory. The firm owns and operates diagnostic equipment
for use in evaluation of all types of materials. Our ability
to conduct this work in-house translates into saved costs
and a depth of unparalleled expertise in historic materials.
